Workshops

Beginning
With the true beginner in mind, a lecture and hands-on workshop on free-motion quilting. This workshop will cover layering, basting, threads, batting, and how to manipulate the quilt, plus the best designs for YOUR quilts.

Heavy emphasis is on designs that DO NOT have to be marked.
Kit: $5 per student.

Intermediate/Advanced

For students who are "very comfortable using the darning foot to do free-motion quilting."

This class reviews all the basic elements to successful machine quilting - decorative threads, rayons, metallics; tension, basting, battings, bindings, etc. Students will "play" with a large variety of designs that do not have to be marked, including flowers, leaves, vines, feathers, children's, holiday's, and border designs.

How Do I Quilt THAT Quilt?

Each student may bring two quilt tops. Ideas for quilting and drawings for quilting designs will be reviewed in a round table forum. Everyone will learn from everyone else's tops.

Designing Machine Quilting
With very little practice using both pencil and paper and your machine you can design machine quilting "pictures" - flowers, leaves, snowflakes...almost anything for your latest quilt top.

The Infinite Feather

This ageless design can be made to fit anywhere, in almost any space or shape; borders, straight lines, hearts, circles, etc. A hands-on class of designing and free-motion quilting without marking.

All workshops are $550 a day.

Workshops are offered from one to five days in length.

Class sizes are limited to 25 students.
